Well now, you know me, and I know Ona who gives praise when it’s due, so I went over to check them out.  They are adorable and come from LightStar.  These boots come in a fat pack with four colors Black, Gray, White (cream) and a red that would have been so cute for Christmas, but I will happily store them away for next year.  They are sweater material with the most adorable buttons. The designer has included a re-size script which in my opinion is a must for foot wear design.  I wore my prims high on the boot because I like a long boot, but they look really cute scrunched down as well.

I’ve created an outfit to go with these boots. I was glad to be able to use some of my fave designers in this offering.

I’m wearing a “Just not that in to you” brown tee shirt from *DPS but had to put something underneath, so I snagged a bottom layer of my H6 top from !_Ce Cubic in a Tea Gray color.

My jeans are from Dutch Touch, and they are the dirty washed finished worn with no prims.

My jewelry is from Earthstones, but ‘woohoo’ for me and ‘boohoo’ for my readers, they were an exclusive color and no longer available (to the best of my knowledge). The design is Bali Crescent and the color is Onyx.

I’ve been beating Monday blahs in Secondlife today by running around in a happy outfit!!!

My big bright fluffy pink and black Tokyo Jacket by SG Fashion paired up nicely with my Gisaci Journey slacks in Black Tweed.

Underneath is a simple tank by MichaMi, but you know its not REALLY simple, the detail on these make them a standby ‘go and grab item’ for so many of my outfits. They are available in great colors and this one is the gray.

I added my J’s Engineer boots and tossed on some ponytails by Truth (Esme in Treacle).

To glam up a bit and make myself smile I put on my pearl fan earrings from Earthstones. Have I told you yet how much I love these pieces? Oh yea, wait I did. Guess I really mean it.

It is also Step Up Day, Step Up is an organization that is helping to combat content theft in Second Life. Please, show your support. At the very bottom of this post I will give you more information!

For now, I’m back to supporting creators by showing off their goodies.  I’ve been fortunate enough to meet several people in the SL fashion industry, and I also find myself in the company of outstanding fashion bloggers.  What this has done for me, is increase the respect I have for them.  This is one reason I am writing this simple little blog, I hope to send even one person to the doors of these creative folks who work so hard to ensure our virtual personalities never need to suffer in bad taste!!

Today’s Look was nudged on by my buddy Ona Ra.  I love this flowy skirt from DP YUM YUM but really had no idea what I would pair with it.  Impulse buy? Who me? NEVER!

I dug around and found a blouse by **en svale** its in a spring green, but in the store it is labeled as ‘berry’ due to the floral designs at the neckline. Don’t let that confuse you, but better yet just buy all of her blouses.  I am sure I own half of the items in there, and her prices are always so reasonable.

Completing my outfit are baubles from Earthstones. (yes I do own other jewels but my chest of Abraxxas goodies never seems to be full).  This necklace and earrings set is called Jharna Attraction.  The deep chocolate browns make it a very versatile set for fall.

My hair this morning channels a bit of early 70′s Cher, it’s called Faye and is by Maitreya.  Skin today is a different League skin called Misty in Deep Tan and Glam makeup.

Step UP! is a campaign centred on a special day of action that everyone can become involved with, and that can empower and inform people about the problem of content theft, and what they can do about it..

We are aiming for a day that draws together action, education and celebration. We want a focus that empowers people and allows them to express their own creatvity in a variety of ways. It also draws attention to the strength of feeling that there is here on the grid.

Step UP! Day will be November 5th – Guy Fawkes Day or Bonfire Night in the UK.

Action:
a) On this day – no-one uploads textures to the grid. This should show the economic power of people acting together, without harming content creators. We want Linden Lab to see the power of the feeling about the problem of content theft – and to discuss urgently strategies for tackling it.

b) As many people as possible wear an orange ribbon as a sign of support for creators.

Celebration:
The day ends with parties. Bonfire parties. That means that all around the grid, people have parties.

We’re encouraging every club to hold a Step Up! party. We encourage every musician to play Step UP! events. Everyone on the grid has a part to play. Everyone can take part.

On the Designing Worlds shows we’ve talked again and again about the need for a social shift – so that people see content theft as socially and morally unacceptable. So … let’s go for it!

The concept originates with a small group – Angie Mornington, Gabrielle Riel, Gwen Carillon and Saffia Widdershins. But more and more people are now becoming involved. And you can too:

I have dug deeply in my closet and found an item that I purchased at first glance, but have never worn.  I’m a devoted fan of Zaara and purchase most of what she puts forth.  This color seemed so appropriate for my fall wardrobe, so I purchased and held on.  Now its time, but I found it some what difficult to style. The high waist items are often so glamorous but not easy to pair.  I’ve settled on a simple but nicely done Panels tank by !E.  The detail, design, floral pattern in the Larin skirt pairs nicely with the simple cut of this tank.

Persona makes a simple set of heart themed jewelry in different metal tones.  I bought them a long time ago, but I find I pull them out of my closet whenever I wear anything in a metallic.  The bronze is a nice compliment to the coppery sheen of this skirt.

Dragging out my first pair of Maitreya Gold Shoe line, the IXkin, of course I feared the same difficulty that I have had in matching prim feet to my skin.  Collapsing in a pile on my skybox floor would not help me get this post up, so I dared to open the HUD, read the NC and give it a whirl.  Creators shall never be blamed! I seem to have a serious mental block in regards to the coveted prim feet and painted toes.  I own a pair from every designer I know that makes them, and no matter what I try I just haven’t the patience. Hoping that you will realize the sacrifice I’ve made for this post, I offer you MY feet, delicately slapped into a cute strappy sandal, perfectly pedicured and I didn’t fall once!

Kate Yin Yang Skin (again) and since conquering my shoes went well, this author decided to pay homage again to Maitreya with my favorite hair from Onyx.  This is Yasmin in Jet Black!

(a note of interest, I am Native American, were I to allow my hair to grow out again, it would look very much like this!)

The reason? Well we are saving up all our extra to purchase holiday gifts.

When my guy and I were talking this all over, it came to mind that I might have more trouble refraining from shopping trips in Second Life than in First Life.  This thought started churning in my mind, so what I’ve come up with is this. I will purchase no clothing, shoes, skins or (OMGOSH) HAIR in November.

To celebrate and challenge myself I intend to pull together outfits from my existing wardrobe, which is arguably large enough to support several avatars for several months.

The draw backs? I am not a shoe nut, so I know we’ll see repeats.  I also will make use of any group gifts, freebies, give away items, prizes one and any lucky chair items.  I just will not be purchasing.

(trust me creators I will make up for it!!!)

So here is my first attempt.  This outfit was made completely out of existing items, and some of them are from way back in my earlier days.  My hope is that it will provide a chance to give a nod to some of my long term favorites.

My favorite winter sweater is from Spork and is called “The Judy” I bought this last season and did not wander over to see if it’s still available but I THINK that it is.

I added a floral patterned knit skirt from **en svale** and my fave cable tights from Persona.

The best part of today, and what motivated me to choose this outfit, was the wonderful group gift that Maitreya sent out. I’ve owned the Soho Boots in Ice for awhile now, and honestly love them (you can see my prior post for footwear). When these black ones showed up in my inventory, you can only imagine my delight.

I chose no jewelry today, because I just wanted to savor the warm cowl neck of this sweater, and besides I was painting my skybox!  The only accessory is my pair of Rory sunglasses from Artilleri

Hair is Brooke in Chocolate from TRUTH and today I’m wearing my Kate Yin Yang Skin in SunTan (BT’s or not can not be seen today!!

Autumn is everywhere at my favorite sim Symphony, and this just felt SO right.  HAPPY shopping!
